§01 / The Fleece

A breed bred for shine, raised the slow way on California pasture.

Long & lustrous

Gotland fleece grows in distinctive 3-D ringlets — roughly 10–12 inches a year. We shear in spring and fall so every staple lands in the sweet spot for hand-spinners.

Silver and charcoal Gotland fleece showing color variation.

Silver to soot

The flock carries the full Gotland range: pale silver, blue-grey, smoke, charcoal, near-black. Lambs are softest, often in the low to mid 20s for micron count.

Honey-cream Gotland curls, clean and open.

Clean, open, skirted

Low-lanolin, sun-fast, with very little vegetable matter thanks to clean pasture and careful coats. Each fleece is hand-skirted before it leaves the farm.

§02 / Available

Two ways to bring Oona wool home.

A full Gotland fleece spread out, ready for skirting.

Whole fleeces

A single sheep, a single shearing — yours from skirt to spine. Ideal for handspinners, felters, and doll-makers who want the full character of one animal across a project.

§04 / The Farm

A small flock, kept carefully, sheared twice.

The Oona Hills flock grazing on California oak savanna.

Oona Hills is a small Gotland flock in the California hills, raised on rotational pasture with the wool always in mind. Every ewe is named, every fleece is tracked back to her, and every lamb has a number that starts with Oona Hills.

We're members of the Gotland Sheep Breeders' Association of North America (GSBANA), and we shear in spring and fall to keep staple lengths in the range hand-spinners actually want — long enough to be lustrous, short enough to draft cleanly.

The fleeces sold here are the same ones we'd want to spin ourselves.

§05 / Get in touch

Small flock, small batch — email for pricing.

Pricing depends on weight, color, and the specifics of each fleece, so we quote individually. Tell us what you're after — a whole fleece by name, an ounce of curls in a particular shade, or just a recommendation by use — and we'll send a quote with shipping.

Whole fleeces ship vacuum-sealed in a kraft box; curl bundles ship in muslin.
